Description

This is a blend of five well-regarded parcels, split almost 50-50 between the left and right banks of the Serein. It’s fermented and raised entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness. The result is a wine which marries power and freshness. There is rounded, juicy fruit, paired with a chalky, crisp finish that offers up aromas of oyster shell.

The 2022 Chablis Village, matured in stainless steel, has a pleasant, bright bouquet with yellow plum and touches of pressed flowers. Understated, but there is a sense of tension here. The palate is well-balanced with a clean, tropical-tinged entry and notes of dried quince and citrus peel. Pale in colour. The first nose is a delight, very classical yet with a juicy generosity (as well as, rather than instead of the classicism), and a little youthful bitterness. Chardonnay

Chardonnay is often seen as the king of white wine grapes and one of the most widely planted in the world It is suited to a wide variety of soils, though it excels in soils with a high limestone content as found in Champagne, Chablis, and the Côte D`Or. Domaine Pinson

The Pinson family have been growing grapes and making wine since 1640. They were among the first in Chablis to bottle their wines for public sale, in the 1880s. By 2009, the area under vine had grown to about 14 hectares, with holdings in Grand Cru, Premier Cru and village-level Chablis vineyards. The wines are made in the classic Chablis style while expressing the distinctive character of each terroir.
