Description
This is a delicate wine of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. A blend of Stéphane’s Cairanne and Rasteau parcels, there is serious structure here. Energy and charm retain the delicacy of his other cuvées and this excels. Fresh red plums, dried herbs and supple texture are balanced by the classic freshness from the 2022 vintage.

Alistair Cooper MW 16/20
Grenache, Syrah.Lovely spicy nose – crushed red fruits, juicy and sappy. The palate is rounded and has some firm tannins as well beneath. Textured and spicy and earthy as well with some graphite. Ripe and voluminous. Still needs time.Drink 2025 - 2032Alistair Cooper MW, JancisRobinson.com (September 2023)

James Suckling 91/100
An aromatic, fresh and well-balanced white with plenty of stone fruits, honeysuckle and cooked lemons. Medium body with fresh acidity and plenty of fruity character all along. Juicy and flavorful finish.Drink or holdjames_suckling, jamessuckling_com (May 2023)

About this wine
Domaine Stephane Ogier
The Ogier family had been established growers in Ampuis for over seven generations, but it was only in the 1980s that they began vinifying their own grapes. Stéphane joined the family estate in ’97, working alongside his father Michel, before taking over in 2003.
