2021 Bourgogne Côte d'Or, La Monatine, Jérôme Patriarche

Description

Jérôme Patriarche’s Bourgogne comes from vines in the well-regarded lieu-dit of La Monatine, to the west of the main road. It is fermented and aged in used oak barrels, to add a little more breadth and complexity without any overt oak flavours. The nose has some oyster-shell notes and a touch of spice alongside the citrus fruit. There is a real purity and elegance to this wine, which is more delicate and refined than one might expect from Meursault.
