Description
This new 2018 shows all the character which makes Barrua such a striking, deliciously appealing red for the price. There is great depth and concentration of rich dark berry fruit, all managed with a skilful lightness of touch with give balance and an attractive freshness on the finish.
The texture on the palate is distinctively Barrua, coming from this unique blend; rounded and velvety in texture, matching the ripeness of the fruit, but with high-quality, crisp tannins which make the finish clean and refreshing. Best to leave for another couple of years before starting to enjoy, and with quality and character to mature to 2035.

Critics reviews
Anthony Rose 91/100
Fresh and subtly spicy aromas are followed by dark red fruits with a dollop of chocolatey richness which, despite a powerful kick of alcohol, is neatly contained in a framework of fine tannins and fresh, juicy acidity. Its grippiness demands food.Drink 2022 - 2026 Anthony Rose, Decanter.com (May 2022)

James Suckling 93/100
Perfumed nose with blackcurrants, blackberries and subtle red roses. Full-to medium-bodied with creamy, integrated tannins that caressing the mouth. Just slightly chewy at the end, but will soften in a year or two. Succulent and delicious. Drink or hold.james_suckling, jamessuckling_com (Mar 2022)
