Description

Located to the east of the town of St Emilion, Trotte Vieille has some of the oldest vines in Bordeaux, a few of them pre-phylloxera and all of them Cabernet Franc. These contribute a very particular and alluring woodland (sous-bois) character to the wine, and there are mineral and olive notes too. Individual and interesting. Drink 2025-2038.

Critics reviews

Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW 91-93/100
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Trotte Vieille leaps from the glass with vivacious scents of baked red plums, black raspberries and prunes with underlying scents of dried herbs, fallen leaves, dusty soil and tobacco. Full-bodied with a firm line of chewy tannins, it delivers a lot of stewed fruits on the mid-palate with a slightly warm finish.Lisa Perrotti-Brown - 23/04/2019
