2017 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese, Feinherb, Ur Alte Reben, Mosel, Germany

This wine is pure joy. It's made from 110-year-old ungrafted vines, which produce tiny and concentrated berries. There are aromas of honeysuckle, stone-fruit and cool minerals on the nose. The attack is vibrant with ripe fruit underpinned by crystalline acidity, which forms the backbone of this wine. A natural sweetness and density on the mid-palate is tempered by an inherent freshness and minerality. This makes a wonderful apéritif to whet the appetite, but also pairs well with seafood and fresh fruit. While delicious now, this wine will reward patient cellaring over the next two decades.
