Description
Bright and vibrant lemon gold appearance with a beautifully intense nose of lemon and orange rind interlaced with sweet spice and a touch of vanilla. The palate is silky yet refreshing, bursting with dried apricots and honey, luscious yet perfectly balanced with crisp acidity. A very long and lingering, concentrated spicy finish. A delicious wine exemplifying the complex beauty of world class Muscat de Frontignan.

Neal Martin MW 96/100
The 2013 Vin de Constance Natural Sweet Wine was matured in 500-liter barrels for around 36 months. It has a beautiful bouquet with honey, quince, pressed yellow flowers and Mirabelle. It has wonderful definition and purity. The palate is very well balanced with a mellifluous texture and beautifully judged acidity as it just sashays along. It fans out on the finish with honey, quince, a touch of rhubarb and ginger, extraordinarily persistent in the mouth. Matthew Day, current winemaker, opined that he thought the 2012 would be the best ever, but the freshness might see it overtaken. This is awesome.Neil Martin - 28/04/2017
Tim Atkin MW 95/100
Matt Day’s second vintage in charge of this iconic sweet wine marks an evolution in style, with the addition of Essencia and slightly less alcohol and residual sugar. It’s another lovely VdC, showing flavours of tarte tatin, orange marmalade, baking spices and subtle oak ageing. Drink: 2017-2030.timatkin_com - Sept 2016
About this wine
Muscat
Muscat refers to a family of grapes of which there are around 200 different branches. Muscat Blancs à Petits Grains is the most noble of the variety and makes the best and most distinctive wines. It is the only wine grape that produces wines that actually taste of grapes, and can produce a range of wines from pale, bone dry whites, through to golden yellow, rich, sweet wines.

Klein Constantia is a wine farm in Constantia, a ward in the suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa. It was once part of a larger estate called Constantia, which was founded in 1685. Following the death of founder Simon Van der Stel in 1712, that estate was sold at auction and divided into three distinct properties. Perhaps best known for the sweet wine Vin de Constance, Klein Constantia is among South Africa’s best-known producers.
