Description
Consistency characterises this property which has a great affiliation with the UK market. You could suggest they should do better in the great vintages but in the more challenging years they provide us with good wines, classical in all the right ways. Dark fruits and black cherries roll around the palate providing purity with an elegant sweet touch. Structure is key here, soft, ripe tannins will ensure this is good to drink from 2020 to 2030. The finish is excellent and long combining charming sweet notes, sound structure and length.

Neal Martin MW 90/100
The 2013 Loville-Barton has a more backward bouquet compared to the Langoa-Barton 2013, but there is more perfume here with blackberry, a touch of sea spray and cold limestone. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannin, a crisp line of acidity with finesse and elegance on the finish, which is one of the best you'll find in Saint Julien. This finishes with a flourish after a conservative opening and it should yield a decade of pleasure, maybe more. This is a solid showing in a tough vintage.Neil Martin - 28/10/2016
