Critics reviews
Robert Parker 86/100
The spectacular quality of the 2012 Conseillante has also resulted in a good second wine. The dark ruby/purple 2012 Duo de Conseillante has loads of fruit, but less depth and ripeness than its bigger sibling. Nevertheless, it is well-made and best drunk over the next 7-8 years.Robert M. Parker, Jr. - 30/04/2015
15.5/20
Aromatic. Mid-palate sweetness. Touch of leafy freshness but warm finish.
Julia Harding MW 16.5/20
Deep cherry red. A touch spirity on the nose. Firm but velvety and generous, sweet, almost red fruited. Approachable and still fresh. julia_harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 29 Apr 2013
James Molesworth 88-91/100
Offers a succulent feel, with layered plum, cassis and boysenberry notes, revealing a tug of licorice on the finish.james_molesworth, Wine Spectator, April 8 2013
About this wine
Merlot
The most widely planted grape in Bordeaux and a grape that has been on a relentless expansion drive throughout the world in the last decade. Merlot is adaptable to most soils and is relatively simple to cultivate. It is a vigorous naturally high yielding grape that requires savage pruning - over-cropped Merlot-based wines are dilute and bland. It is also vital to pick at optimum ripeness as Merlot can quickly lose its varietal characteristics if harvested overripe.
