2010 Château d'Armailhac, Pauillac, Bordeaux

Description

This is an explosive raspberry flavour sensation! The opposite of the masculine Clerc Milon; soft, silky, elegant, curvy and oozing sex appeal; luscious! This vintage is probably the wine I’m looking forward to buying for myself the most. It’s their best to date. There is some fantastic work going on around Mouton these days.

(60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot)

Château d'Armailhac

Classified as a Fifth Growth in 1855, Château d’Armailhac came under the ownership of the Baron Philippe de Rothschild family in 1933. Today Baroness Philippine’s children, Camille and Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild continue the family’s quest for excellence and innovation in the vineyard and winery.

Pauillac

Pauillac

The aristocrat of the Médoc boasts 75 percent of the region’s First Growths, with Grand Cru Classés representing 84 percent of production. Pauillac's First Growths each have their own unique characteristics: Ch. Lafite Rothschild produces the region’s most aromatically-complex and subtly-flavoured wine, while – with its high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon – Ch. Mouton Rothschild can produce a decadently rich, fleshy and exotic wine.
