Description
Appealing ripe fruit aromas greet you on first acquaintance with bruised pear, honey and waxed lemon rind to the fore. There is even a touch of sea breeze freshness but I am resisting the urge to compare this to Honey Ryder emerging from the sea. Effortlessly stylish, forceful but understated (can you see where I am going with this?) with a distinct hint of nuts, yes the similarities to James Bond are remarkable. The rich finish is rounded out with cooked rhubarb, apple core and vanilla custard. Very appealing indeed and perfectly expressive of the vintage.

68% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay Bollinger have crafted a suitably suave and sophisticated wine to celebrate the release of Bond’s latest adventure. 2009 is a hot vintage, giving weight, richness and a generous density of fruit, one might say explosive! Nose of white flowers, baked apple fruit and hints of almond and acacia honey with classic brioche notes in the background. Really very good - perfect to enjoy in an armchair whilst stroking a white cat.
Martyn Rolph, Private Account Manager Rich lifted nose, hint of vanilla and pears, nice line of toasty brioche. Great definition on the nose. This depth follows through on the rich Pinot Noir dominated palate full of Mirabelle plum, orange citrus fruit and yet a briskness and liveliness that keeps it as frosty and sharp as the secret agent himself. A fresh, forward, rich Champagne to enjoy with food or just by itself to calm the nerves at the same time an industrial laser makes its way towards you.
Beautiful drink that can be enjoyed now or kept over the next 5 + years

About this wine
Bollinger
The Champagne House of Bollinger was established in 1829 by Jacques Bollinger and Paul Renaudin. Over the years the vineyard holdings have been steadily increased with the largest expansion taking place under the stewardship of the legendary Mme Lily Bollinger. She ran the company between 1941 and 1977 and today it is managed by her great-nephew, Ghislain de Montgolfier.
