2004 Imperial, Gran Reserva, C.V.N.E., Rioja, Spain

Description

The cepage of this wine is dominated by Tempranillo, however small percentages of Graciano and Mazuelo are added to give the wine an extra level of complexity and character. The ageing takes place in new French and American oak and lasts for 24 months. Aromas of spice-box, coffee grounds, black cherry & damsons are both harmonious & rich, whilst the palate is medium-full bodied & can only be described as voluptuous and concentrated.

It is just starting to drink nicely now and will continue to be a sure thing until 2024 - 2025.
