Introduction to Port, Tuesday 19th November 2024
- Tuesday 19 November 2024
- 18:30 - 20:30
Description
Delve into everything there is to know about Portugal’s most famous fortified wine, in a masterclass that aims to provide attendees with an introduction to Port production. Whilst sampling a flight of delicious wines, we will also be providing tips and tricks as to which wines are best for drinking young or cellaring and, indeed, how to serve them when the occasion arises.
Commencing with the traditional Port grower’s apéritif of a white Port and tonic, we will progress with a fascinating comparative tasting of ruby and tawny Ports. The tasting will culminate in a flight of premium styles such as Late Bottled Vintage, Vintage, and Tawnies with age indications. Such an evening would be incomplete without something to graze on, and a selection of cheese and nibbles will be available to keep you sated.
