Description
From vines in Milly.
A plethora of Chablis elements are present on the lemony aromas of tidal pool, quinine and green apple. The racy and beautifully delineated medium-weight flavours flash a lovely minerality on the markedly dry but not really austere finale. This is really quite lovely and is a wine that has the stuffing to repay several years of keeping. Recommended.

Made from 5 plots in Milly, mostly older vines including Vieille Voye. Palish lemon colour. Rather a closed nose, very much in white fruit, just ripe, good acidity, all quite tight at the moment.Drink 2024-2026Jasper Morris, insideburgundy_com (January 2023)

About this wine
Chardonnay
Chardonnay is often seen as the king of white wine grapes and one of the most widely planted in the world It is suited to a wide variety of soils, though it excels in soils with a high limestone content as found in Champagne, Chablis, and the Côte D`Or. Burgundy is Chardonnay's spiritual home and the best White Burgundies are dry, rich, honeyed wines with marvellous poise, elegance and balance. They are unquestionably the finest dry white wines in the world. Chardonnay plays a crucial role in the Champagne blend, providing structure and finesse, and is the sole grape in Blanc de Blancs.
