Critics reviews

Neal Martin MW 85-87/100
This millennial Warres has little on the nose with just some wild blackberries, a touch of roasted herbs and liquorice. The palate is smooth upon the entry, refined though lacking some vigour with some dryness towards the finish. Perhaps this will coalesce in bottle ageing?Neil Martin, Wine Advocate (September 2008)

Full medium ruby. The complex, perfumed nose combines crystallized blackberry and cassis, liquorice, violet, spice cake, bitter chocolate and mint. Thick, dense and powerful, with slightly grapey, medicinal flavours of black fruits, violet, liquorice, dark chocolate and spices. This shows terrific intensity, purity of flavour and length on the palate, with solid but fine tannins. Ultimately, it is quite seamless and silky, even though it is still young.Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com.com (January 2003)

Deep blackish purple. Lovely lift and savour. Slight hint of sawdust on extremely luscious fruit then some fine tannins. Pretty interesting, if non-classic wine. A real flatterer. Long but with great interest. Dry finish.Drink 2010 - 2028jancis_robinson_mw MW, JancisRobinson.com (October 2004)

Straightforward yet intense, ripe black raspberry liqueur and cassis scents are followed by a medium to full-bodied, elegant, restrained, balanced port with moderately high tannin as well as outstanding purity. It is a vintage port with impeccable finesse. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2020.Robert M. Parker, Jr. - 30/10/2002

Porto

Porto

Rich, saccharine, intensely-flavoured and, at their best, wonderfully majestic and harmonious, these are wines to be savoured on their own, or with a fine chunk of cheese after a meal. Port comes from the stunning Douro region of Portugal, about 50 miles east of Oporto, and is made in two different styles: bottle-aged and cask-aged.
