Seyval Blanc
Seyval Blanc is one of the most successfully grown grape varieties grown in the UK today. It is a hybrid variety which in viticultural terms means that it is has a degree of American non-vinifera parentage and was produced in the early 20th century by crossing Seibel 5656 with Seibel 4986. It was introduced in the UK by Major General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones in the early 1950s and has proved ideally suited to English weather being resistant to low temperatures and to disease.
