From the top of the hill, 60 metres from the famous windmill, this 2.25-hectare vineyard was planted in 1920 and ’45. The pink granite is the dominant component, under 20 centimetres of pink and white sand. The wine is the most strict and serious of the range, in classic Moulin-à-Vent style; it needs the most time to evolve. Estimated 2022-2034 (Not Tasted)

About this wine
Gamay
A French variety planted predominately in Beaujolais where it is the grape behind everything from light and often acidic Beaujolais Nouveau through to the more serious and well-structured wines from the 10 cru villages. It takes its name from a hamlet just outside Chassagne-Montrachet and was at one stage widely planted on the Côte d`Or. However it was gradually phased out due to its poor yield and supposed poor quality of its wines.
