Description
Lifted black Cherry, plum notes, Thyme and “teal like” leafiness in the background, on the nose. A seamless melange of aromas. This is a serious Serre Nuove. No less enjoyable but allow a few years before approaching. The medium bodied silky blackcurrant fruit on the mid palate, shows great vim & vigour, with the vibrant leaf bud element of the increased percentage of the Cabernet Franc visible. Great grip of well intergrated tannins. A finely constructed, savoury Serre Nuove. 2021- 2028.

This is a stunning and exuberant wine that drinks with beautiful intensity and personality. The 2015 Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is made with fruit from the estate's young vines. Fruit from the older vines is instead directed to the top-shelf expressions. If this wine is any indication of what we can expect from the next vintage of Ornellaia to hit the market, we are in for a very special treat. This is a complete and richly concentrated expression that drinks with seamless intensity. It pits power against elegance with confidence and grace.Monica Larner - 31/10/2017
About this wine
Ornellaia
Tenuta dell’Ornellaia is located in one of the world’s most exciting wine regions: Bolgheri. A breathtaking avenue lined by towering cypress trees leads inland from the Aurelia, the old Roman coastal road, up to the walls of Bolgheri’s medieval hamlet. From the village the view extends far out to sea and on a clear day the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and Corsica can be seen. The mild maritime climate and the lush Mediterranean vegetation leave an imprint upon the character of the wines. Tenuta dell’Ornellaia's unique territory guides all aspects of production: limited quantities to ensure maximum quality, attention to every detail, selective hand harvesting, microvinification and ageing.
