Description
Vougeraie’s one-third-of-a-hectare parcel is high in this already elevated vineyard, close to the top of the slope before it falls away to St Aubin. Planted in 2008, the vineyard consistently delivers Puligny power while retaining a high-toned note. It feels totally correct this year, with a hint of lime flower, a succulent note and a generous, mature texture. Drink 2025-2038.

Jasper Morris MW 90-92/100
Located at the St-Aubin end of the vineyard. Glowing lemon and lime in colour, there is more weight and more tension than the village Puligny, but I don’t find it a lot more interesting. Ripe grapefruit and lemon notes, middleweight.Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy_com (January 2022)
About this wine
Chardonnay
Chardonnay is often seen as the king of white wine grapes and one of the most widely planted in the world It is suited to a wide variety of soils, though it excels in soils with a high limestone content as found in Champagne, Chablis, and the Côte D`Or. Burgundy is Chardonnay's spiritual home and the best White Burgundies are dry, rich, honeyed wines with marvellous poise, elegance and balance. They are unquestionably the finest dry white wines in the world. Chardonnay plays a crucial role in the Champagne blend, providing structure and finesse, and is the sole grape in Blanc de Blancs.
