Description
Cabernet Sauvignon 49%, Merlot 42%, Petit Verdot 6.5%, Cabernet Franc 2.5%
The terroir of Moulis encourages a particular style of Bordeaux, and no estate expresses it better than Chasse-Spleen. The soils allow for quite structured wines, but they are also marked by expressive, juicy fruit. Just so with this 2020: the bouquet is bright, vivacious and full of cassis. The palate is fruity and with plenty of personality. The tannins add a sense of charcoal, and there is an appealing black-pepper spice. This is an appealing wine that is both fun and interesting.

Antonio Galloni 88-90/100
The 2020 Chasse-Spleen is plump, juicy and easy to like. Ripe red cherry, plum, spice and lavender all meld together in this soft, easygoing Moulis. Not hugely complex, but irresistibly delicious.Drink from 2025 to 2035antonio_galloni, Vinous.com (June 2021)

Neal Martin MW 89-91/100
The 2020 Chasse-Spleen offers attractive wild strawberry, blackberry and rose petal scents on the nose, which is well defined and very cohesive. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, a smooth texture and cedar and leather notes infusing the red fruit. I am just seeking a little more backbone and grip on the finish of this Chasse-Spleen, although it should still give 15–20 years of drinking pleasure.Drink from 2027 to 2042Neil Martin, Vinous.com (May 2021)

James Suckling 94-95/100
A beautifully constructed young Bordeaux with blackberry, walnut, nutmeg, dried herb and bark. Full-bodied with round, creamy tannins and a flavourful finish.james_suckling, jamessuckling_com (April 2021)
