Description
Without going into too much detail, this wine really is from Boudriotte – which can also be sold as Morgeot (or contain wine from various other small adjacent vineyards). Pure Boudriotte is finer boned than true Morgeot, which is clearly evident in this vintage with its softly aromatic, surprisingly linear style and confidently composed infrastructure. Drink 2024-2035.

Jasper Morris MW 92-94/100
Pretty mid lemon yellow. Boudriotte has a higher toned nose than Macherelles. Some yellow plums, a little bit waxy, slightly more concentration of fruit. Notably more weight, a chiselled freshness, a little bit of oak. This is very backward and slightly unformed but with potential to go further than Macherelles.Jasper Morris MW, insideburgundy_com (January 2022)
About this wine
Chardonnay
Chardonnay is often seen as the king of white wine grapes and one of the most widely planted in the world It is suited to a wide variety of soils, though it excels in soils with a high limestone content as found in Champagne, Chablis, and the Côte D`Or. Burgundy is Chardonnay's spiritual home and the best White Burgundies are dry, rich, honeyed wines with marvellous poise, elegance and balance. They are unquestionably the finest dry white wines in the world. Chardonnay plays a crucial role in the Champagne blend, providing structure and finesse, and is the sole grape in Blanc de Blancs.
