Description
Owing to its enviable position just below Bâtard-Montrachet, Les Aubues punches well above the weight of a village wine. The 2019 is juicy and mouth-filling, with lots of substance on the mid-palate. The finish is crisp, saline and extremely persistent. Drink 2023-2026.

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Aubues has a rather muted nose at the moment with light granitic aromas. The palate is nicely balanced with a viscous opening, rich with tropical fruit, although it requires more tension and acidity to come through on the finish. Probably more early drinking.Neil Martin, Vinous.com
About this wine
Chardonnay
Chardonnay is often seen as the king of white wine grapes and one of the most widely planted in the world It is suited to a wide variety of soils, though it excels in soils with a high limestone content as found in Champagne, Chablis, and the Côte D`Or. Burgundy is Chardonnay's spiritual home and the best White Burgundies are dry, rich, honeyed wines with marvellous poise, elegance and balance. They are unquestionably the finest dry white wines in the world. Chardonnay plays a crucial role in the Champagne blend, providing structure and finesse, and is the sole grape in Blanc de Blancs.
