2019 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge, Clos des Papes, Paul Avril & Fils, Rhône

Vincent Avril is absolutely delighted by his 2019 red wine, comparing it with the great vintages of 2016 and 2010. He comments that it is extremely balanced: powerful, certainly, but characterised by finesse and silkiness. Vincent makes clear that the only word that matters to him is qualité; Clos des Papes always reflects exactly what nature has given the vines. Drink 2024-2045+.
