Having walked past the vats of the maiden Oregon wine from Louis Jadot at Trisaetum last year, I was intrigued to see how the eventual wine would turn out. Extremely well is the answer. The 2013 Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir is a straight down the line Oregon Pinot on the nose and I like that. It's not trying to be Burgundian. Ripe black cherries and blueberry, a slight metallic edge, quite tensile and fresh, it is an attractive bouquet. The palate is well balanced with fine tannins, a keen thread of acidity that pierces the blackberry and blueberry fruit, quite linear in style with a silky smooth texture on the finish. Chapeau, Jacques Lardière! This is a very promising debut and I look forward to tasting further vintages. Neil Martin, Wine Advocate

This is discreet to the point of being all but mute and only aggressive swirling liberates reluctant notes of various red and dark currant, spice and briar scents. There is good intensity to the sleek and intense medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent volume that continues on to the dusty, complex and moderately austere finale. This is clearly built to age and it will need at least 5 to 7 years to shed some of its tannic spine and reward up to 10. In sum, this is an impressive debut. 2021+ Allen Meadows’ burghound_com.com

Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is probably the most frustrating, and at times infuriating, wine grape in the world. However when it is successful, it can produce some of the most sublime wines known to man. This thin-skinned grape which grows in small, tight bunches performs well on well-drained, deepish limestone based subsoils as are found on Burgundy's Côte d'Or. Pinot Noir is more susceptible than other varieties to over cropping - concentration and varietal character disappear rapidly if yields are excessive and yields as little as 25hl/ha are the norm for some climats of the Côte d`Or.

Resonance Vineyard

Résonance is Maison Louis Jadot’s first wine project outside of Burgundy since their founding in 1859. The project is led by famed Jadot Winemaker, Jacques Lardière, who takes over 40 years of experience in the rolling hills of Burgundy and applies it in one of the most exciting nascent Pinot Noir regions in the world. It took several years for the Jadot team to find the ideal location in the Willamette Valley, but their patience paid off and finally they could kick the Résonance project off. The Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of the finest vineyards in the valley and includes grapes from the estate owned single vineyards Résonance and Découverte.
